Fiagai

Fiagai Poultry

This is Eve, my first Pekin Bantam pullet. She was bought from Clitheroe Auction Mart for £1 after she was left to die; she had been attacked by other birds and left featherless, bruised and in an undernourished state.

She is a silver pencilled Pekin Bantam which I am told is quite rare.

Eve now has a beau, bought from down south especially for her. Roarke is a mottled cockeral and is a prime example of Pekin masculinity! More photos to follow of both Roarke and Eve.

They have their first show on September 22nd and I hope to have eggs available for hatching next year from this pair, and well as chicks and young growers.

Cochins

This is Mavourneen, my Cuckoo Cochin pullet. She started laying last week at 26 weeks, and has produced 7 eggs in the past 10 days, so I am very pleased with her! She is a very big bird, and will also be going to her first show in September.

More Cochins.....

This is Leannan, my Lavender Cochin pullet. She is also 27 weeks, and has started laying, but so far is only producing a couple of eggs a week. She is going to the same show as the others, as her colour is wonderful and not seen as much as I thought.
